Unlike conventional Soft Starts which are voltage controlled the Amp Ramp operates by continually monitoring and controlling the motor current and hence torque during startup. The Amp Ramp is compact and easy to install thus maximising panel space. Its competitive pricing extends the use of Soft Start to new applications.
Pedestal current sets initial current hence torque, adjustable 50-500% FLC. Ramp Up sets the desired acceleration time for the motor, adjustable from 1- 30 seconds. Current Limit holds current ramp once a preset level is reached, adjustable from 100-500% FLC. Current falls to normal load once motor is up to full speed.
The Amp Ramp is a simple cost-effective Soft Start for motors up to 110kW It uses two back-to-back semiconductor devices in each phase to control the current applied to the motor ensuring the smoothest start possible.
