The Single Phase Soft Start manufactured to BSEN 60947-4-2 is designed to control single phase motors with nominal current up to 25A. Initial torque is adjustable as well as ramp time. Overload protection is not provided in the controller and must therefore be installed separately. The controller is designed to remain in circuit.

The STL soft start units show connection details for single and three phase motors. This soft start controls ONE phase only and therefore Soft Start Direct do not recommend it's use on three phase motors. It should be used on single phase motors only and this includes split phase motors. The connection diagram for the split phase motor is shown bellow.

The STL units can be used with fuses to offer short circuit protection for the semiconductors. the recommended high speed fuses are as follows
STL 15A 50A Fuse (max i2t of 1800) STL 15A 80A Fuse (max i2t of 6300)
STL 15A
50A Fuse (max i2t of 1800)
80A Fuse (max i2t of 6300)
For normal circuit/installation protection HRC fuses or circuit breakers should be used.
Start stop activated by application/removal of mains supply.
Please note the number of Starts/Stops on this product is unlimited.
