Soft Drive 300

Softdrive 300 Series Technical Information

Softdrive 300 is mechanically protected to IP20 with a simple keypad with LCD display in a multi language format and pushbuttons for setting up.

The parameters are adjustable on a two menu format. The first menu is for standard parameters commonly adjusted by the end user with a second menu for parameters not as commonly used.

The LCD keypad is mounted on the module with an option available which provides a blanking plate and screened ribbon cable to allow mounting of a complete keypad on the panel door.

Communications are available on RS422 via a user friendly set up disk for PC’s or alternatively PROFIBUS and/or DeviceNet are available by the addition of a communications card to the standard assemblies.

* Please note 450-800kW units do not have by-pass busbars and CT's for overload are provided as loose. These units are provided as standard with door mounting kit for remote mounting of keypad.
High speed fuses are supplied by Softstart Direct in sets of 3 with separate fixings on units up to 110kW and mounted inside the units on 132kW and above.

All units are manufactured and tested to BS EN60947-4-2

High Level Specification

• Pedestal sets initial voltage hence torque. Adjustable from 0-80% of line voltage.
• Ramp Up sets the desired acceleration time for the motor. Adjustable from 0-240 seconds.
• Current Limit holds voltage ramp once a preset level is reached. Adjustable 100-500% FLC.
• Pedestal Down sets level of voltage before Ramp Down commences. Adjustable 100-20% of line volts
• Ramp Down sets acceleration rate for motor. Adjustable from 0.5-240 seconds.
• Zero sense sets switch off point for deceleration Adjustable from 0-70% of line voltage.

Protection

The Softdrive 300 has a comprehensive protection package that means little additional equipment is required. The Softdrive 300 as standard includes:-

• 1²t electronic overload with selectable curves (includes extended ramp curves)
• Second overload option for dual motor/two speed motor circuits.

* Earth fault protection requires a separate core balance CT available from Softstart Direct with 50, 80 and 120mm internal diameter.

All protection remains in circuit during, running and by-pass mode through internal link bars. Therefore Softstart Direct have 6 output terminals for the motor and one set for the bypass contactor.

Keypads

Panel Display

Display A unique feature with Softdrive 300 is the ability to mount the optional keypad on the front of the panel door allowing all indication and set-up to be achieved without going into the panel. A door mounting kit is available which comprises a blanking plate to fit into the cubicle mounted Controller and 2M screened ribbon cable to run from the Controller to the panel door.

LCD Display

The LCD display keypad has full text display with the Parameters accessed Up/Down and Enter Pushbuttons. All Parameters are displayed in two 16 character lines of text in a choice of languages. Power and Fault LED’s are fitted for quick reference.
